A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to non-existent addresses under the exact same domain. For example, a message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can get messages from colleagues or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain moment you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

You’ll be able to create a catch-all mailbox without difficulty if you’ve got a hosting account with us. The Email Manager tool in our in-house created Hepsia hosting Control Panel is full-featured, yet astonishingly user-friendly, and it will permit you to activate different options, including the catch-all one, with only a couple of clicks. All the email addresses that you have created will be displayed alphabetically in this section and to the right of each one you’ll notice a small "Catch-all" icon. Clicking on it once will activate this option, clicking on it twice will deactivate it. As you can have just one such catch-all mailbox per domain, our system will alert you if you already have a different one with this feature activated or if you’ve got activated email forwarding.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be configured with a couple of clicks of the mouse in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated service with us. The semi-dedicated account will be administered through our in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up mailboxes using any domain name registered there. To activate the catch-all option for a given mailbox, you will need to click on the icon with the same name, which will be next to each mailbox. Deactivating this feature can be done in the same fashion and will not require more than one click either. In case the catch-all functionality has already been activated for a specific domain name, you’ll receive a notification. The same is valid if the mailbox that you’d like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never deactivate or modify any feature automatically.
